We are an adult adaptive rowing club based at the Royal Docks in London, open to anyone including those with disabilities. The team currently consists of 8 members and a coach and we are looking to bring on new members and coaches! With the help of London Youth Rowing, British Rowing and Royal Docks Adventure, the club is able to row throughout the year (once a week currently), with access to indoor and outdoor facilities.
Our passion for adaptive rowing stems from many inspirations, one of them being our coaches' determination to thrive in the sport despite their own disabilities. They are here to ensure that you can safely enjoy the sport with a group of likeminded people!

Being based at the Royal Docks Adventure allows us to utilise the amazing adaptive facilities of the centre.
The Rowing Tank simulates the experience of rowing, while actually being indoors, perfect for those who might not yet feel confident getting on the water. For participants that are unable to enter the tank independently, we use the hoist to lower them into the seat safely.
We also have adaptive seats for rowing machines (ergs), with different levels of support which will be applied as deemed necessary by our coaches. These mean that anyone can get their workout in, so no excuses!
Safety launches allow us to provide safety cover during every session, so that should there be a capsize or incident where the help is required, we can get to the person quickly. Launches are also used to provide on-water tours for participants who are unable to use particular boats, or when the weather conditions are rough
If you would like to join the current group, you are more than welcome.
Currently we pay subs of £10 a month however this will change once we are affiliated to British Rowing, we are on track to keep the annual membership fees very much accessible to all. Until we have completed the affiliation to British Rowing and formalised as a club, we have to comply with the current set up arranged by British Rowing, London Youth Rowing and Royal Docks Adventure.
This means we can only accept adults with disabilities.
All adults are assessed by London Youth Rowing and or British Rowing, this is NOT to see if you are ‘disabled enough’ but for SAFETY purposes for yourself, the coaches and other members of the group.
We would not want to put anyone, including yourself at unnecessary risk.
*Please note for safety reasons we may have to limit numbers, but do not let that put you off! In the event that this happens, if you are really keen you can give us permission to keep your contact details and you will be placed on a waiting list and contacted as appropriate*

Our sessions take place on the Royal Docks Adventure, a historic place where the GB Paralympic Rowing team used to train. This dock is easily accessible by wheelchair and is a great location for anything rowing.
